From Isolation to Integration: Development Tendency of Research on PCK and Teaching Wisdom

Theory of Pedagogical Content Knowledge(PCK) is triggered by the missing paradigm(Shulman,1986) found in American research on teaching competence,whereas research on teaching wisdom originates from the curriculum innovation in China.The former comes from the cultural background of scientific knowledge,and the latter has its roots deeply in the fertilized soil of teaching wisdom in China.Given the fact that current research on PCK and teaching wisdom present a tendency of mutual penetration,it is an inevitable result that research on both topics will shift their attention from knowledge to wisdom.
