Modulation of Angiogenesis in the Chick Chorioallantoic Membrane (CAM) by Steroid and Non-Steroid Antiinflammatory Drugs

1996
Angiogenesis, a multistep process of great pathophysiological significance, is associated with many disease states such as cancer, psoriasis and arthritis (Maragoudakis, 1993). In addition, it is one of the main features of the inflammation (Folkman, 1985). Cells involved in the inflammatory process, such as macrophages, secrete angiogenic factors the production of which may be inhibited by antiinflammatory drugs (Fantuzzi and Ghezzi, 1993; Hu et al., 1983).
