Experience of implementation and development of an online Master in Microelectronics

Since October 2008 the University of Seville offers the official degree of “Master in Microelectronics, Design and Applications of Micro/Nanoscale Systems”. This Master features a distinguishing characteristic with respect to virtually all existing similar courses, namely the peculiarity of being taught online. It constituted a real novelty at the time of its launch and an extraordinary challenge, both in its implementation and development, as it combines the characteristics and problems of e-learning with teaching very specialized technical content. This paper describes the characteristics and experience of starting and developing a successful degree in this area.
