EVALUATION OF CHINA ASTER VARIETIES/PURE LINES FOR RESISTANCE TO Meloidogyne incognita (Kofoid & White, 1919) Chitwood, 1949

Nine China Aster varieties/pure lines were evaluated for resistance to Meloidogyne incognita race 1 under pot conditions. Based on the Root Gall Index (RGI) and the Multiplication Factor (MF), IIHR-2 was categorised as highly resistant. Pure lines AST -5, IIHR-17, IIHR-21 and variety Shashank were found to be resistant while, Poornima was moderately resistant and Kamini, Violet Cushion and AST-16 were susceptible.
