An experiment in school – industry cooperation

Recent years have seen several attempts to form closer contacts between schools and industry, in an effort to show pupils the relevance of their work to life outside the schools, and to benefit from the experience of industrial scientists. Reece and Black (1969) for example have described a project in the Midlands to bring teachers into contact with industrial scientists, and similar projects are currently underway in several other Branches of the Institute.
