Preparation and determination of ethacridine lactate ointment

Objective:To prepare ethacridine lactate ointment and establish a method for its quality control. Methods:The ethacridine lactate ointment was prepared with glycerol and cosmolin etc as matrix material.The content of ethacridine lactate was determined by UV spectrophotometry. Results:The quality traits,identification and tests of the prepared ointment were consistent with the requirements from Pharmacopoeia of the People's Republic of China(2005 edition). The linear range of ethacridine lactate was 0.2-19.9 μg/ml (r=0.999 3),and the mean recovery was 101.1%(RSD=1.75%). Conclusion:The preparation method is simple and the quality control method is feasible.
