Magnetic Resonance Elastrography of Other Organs

2014
The growing interest in the technique of magnetic resonance elastography (MRE) and its successful clinical application in the evaluation of chronic liver disease have led to its exploration in other organs and their pathologies. Evaluation of breast with MRE has been of interest since the invention of the MRE technique, and with the development of new driver and technical innovations it is now possible to obtain excellent MRE of the breast. MRE has also been explored on deep abdominal and pelvic organs such as spleen, pancreas, kidneys, and uterus with promising results. In this chapter we will describe the technique and preliminary experience with MRE of breast, spleen, pancreas, kidneys, and uterus.
