Changes of Purine Nucleotide Content in Lymphocytes from Patients Infected with Human Immunodeficiency Virus
1995
Few reports have been published on changes in purine catabolic enzymes during HTV-1 infection. Indications in the literature suggest that purine nucleotide metabolism is altered in virus infected cells. Some authors1, 2 report decreased total 5’-N activity in peripheral blood lymphocytes (PBL) from AIDS patients, while others find normal ecto-5’-N in T cells, but markledy decreased activity in B cells.
