Mutual Support for Information Retrieval based on Browsing History

2004
Recently, information on the Web is remarkably increasing. However, users may be often unable to find the documents they want because of too much information. In this paper, therefore, we propose, implement, and evaluate a mutual supporting method for information retrieval by sharing browsing history of documents in organization, workgroup and so on. By our proposal technique, user's interest and concern are extracted based on their browsing history, and when other users get the information matched for it, recommendation is committed after subjective decision of the user. As a result, our system makes mutual support for information retrieval possible and the eciency of it will be improved.
