Rising the work uniformity of thread milling cutters in machining parts of rocket and space technology

The paper presents a method for determining the total cross-sectional area of the cut off layer for comb-shaped thread milling cutters with screw chip grooves based on process modeling and the developed theoretical dependencies for thread-milling by disk thread mills. On the basis of the accepted uniformity criterion of thread milling and using the proposed methodology, the problem of determining the angle of inclination of the chip grooves on a thread milling cutter with a diameter of 6 mm and three teeth was solved to increase the stability of machining the internal thread M8x1.25-4H5H in workpieces made of D16T and 40X steel. The solution showed that the accepted uniformity criterion of thread milling is performed at two values of the angle of inclination of the chip grooves (ω1 = 27.5 ° and ω2 = 47 °), which made it possible to choose the angle ω1 = 27.5 ° for designing the tool taking into account the manufacturability of its production on the grinding wheel CNC machine tool.The paper presents a method for determining the total cross-sectional area of the cut off layer for comb-shaped thread milling cutters with screw chip grooves based on process modeling and the developed theoretical dependencies for thread-milling by disk thread mills.
