Regional Copernicus: foster end users uptake by co-designing regional EO-based products and services. An example with local and regional authorities (LRAs) in Brittany

2019
Regional level is relevant to address user uptake of Copernicus-based products and services. The Regional Copernicus aims at providing local and regional authorities a framework and a support to become active agents of earth observation-based innovation. It relies on geomatics community, already well-structured in Brittany through the GeoBretagne partnership. An expected result of this approach is to produce and make available new Copernicus-based products and services, co-designed by all the actors of the added-value chain and consistent with INSPIRE requirements. For now, the ongoing approach brought together actors of the public sectors and the private sector to build a first local demonstrator on land cover. In the future other demonstrators should be implemented and this experimental approach should be widespread at Regional level.
