Approach to Coronal Tomography in CCT Diagnostics on the Delta Body Scanner

1976
The precise localization of intracranial lesions by means of coronal tomography in CCT diagnostics helps considerably injudging the operability of tumors and in the post-operative assessment of residual tumor. Furthermore, it helps in recognizing tumor recurrences, in planning radiation treatment, and in offering a possibility of post-irradiation tumor control. Coronal slices taken directly were presented by NAKAGAWA et al. (1976). GLENN et al. (1976) elaborated computer programs for there construction of coronal images from conventional transverse images in an off-line mode of operation, which at present take 1 – 2 h of computation time.
