A process for recovering cyclododecatriene (CDT) from a CDT and high boilers such as deactivated catalyst and polymers containing solution being supplied to the solution to a preheater and heated, then relaxed on a downstream pressure holding device and supplying the resulting two-phase mixture an helical tube evaporator, where by partial evaporation in its content is reduced, the liquid phase of CDT and derives a gaseous product stream having an increased concentration of CDT.
