Broad-Band Folded Patch Antenna with Shorts and Slots

The paper describes a broad-band patch antenna with a measured impedance bandwidth ratio of 2.58:1 (VSWR  2) and dimensions of 0.23 λ (length) x 0.23 λ (width) x 0.091 λ (height) at the lowest frequency. Its broadband characteristics are achieved by folding it and introducing shorts and slots. A prototype has been manufactured and investigated experimentally with good agreement with simulated results. (5 pages)
