A Method of Deep Delivery of Drugs into The Biological Tissues

2020
In this paper, a method and device for deep drug delivery into human tissue are described. The proposed method of drug delivery deep into biological tissue is based on the phenomenon of electroosmosis, which is the movement of fluid through capillaries or a porous septum when an external electric field is applied. Unlike methods such as electrophoresis and phonophoresis, which are used for physical therapy effects, the proposed approach allows the treatment of relatively large and spatially spaced pain areas, for example, knee joints of both legs. In this work, a mathematical model is developed that allows you to determine the necessary parameters that describe the penetration of a drug into biological tissue. The rejection of the use of currents for the delivery of drugs into the biological tissue allows you to expand the range of drugs. The lack of direct contact of the electrodes with biological tissue allows the simultaneous treatment of large areas of the body.
