Calibration of working measures for natural measurements of the effective scattering area of objects in the optical wavelength range

A method of calibrating tunable light reflectors, used as working measures in measurements of the opticalradar characteristics of objects under natural conditions, is proposed, a feature of which is a comparison of the effective scattering areas of standard and working measures over short routes, for which the far-zone condition is not satisfied. An analysis of the systematic errors of the method is presented and recommendations for reducing them are developed.
