Womens decision making power and their safe motherhood practices : a presentation.

This conference presentation presents a study that aimed to assess the decision- making power among women on certain day-to-day activities and to single out its effect on their safe motherhood practices. Data were collected from the National Family Health Survey II conducted in the states of Andhra Pradesh Haryana Bihar and Gujarat. Independent and dependent variables used in analyzing the data are listed. Presented in tables and charts the findings relate to the distribution of women according to decision-making power exposure to mass media; standard of living index and safe motherhood practices in the selected four states.
