The idea that there is development, progress, evolution or whatsover in history is not as old as history of mankind, nor does it universally exist anywhere in the world. It is an outcome of the modern West, and it came to be fixed especially by the modern idea of progress beginning from the Enlightenment since the 17th century Europe.
