MILITARY HOUSING TRIP GENERATION STUDY

1998
A trip generation study of off-base military housing facilities in the San Diego area was undertaken to provide data on the number of daily and peak hour vehicular trips attracted to or produced by military housing units. Results found that military household trip generation rates were lower than conventional households. Military housing sites were also found to exhibit peak hour trip generation earlier than the generally accepted conventional peak travel periods on regional roadways. These results will be used by planners and transportation engineers to determine potential traffic impacts associated with military housing facilities.
