Application value of diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) in brain malignant tumors

2019
Objective To analyze the clinical value of diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) in the diagnosis of malignant tumors of the brain. Methods A retrospective analysis on 57 patients with brain malignant tumors (all confirmed by surgery and pathological examination) in our hospital from March 2015 to February 2019 was carried out. All patients were treated with conventional head scan, diffusion tensor imaging (DTI), and enhanced 3D imaging scan. The white matter fiber bundles of the white matter area, edema area, and parenchymal area of the tumor were measured by post-processing reconstruction, and the brain malignant tumors were analyzed. Results Among the 57 patients, 6 patients with grade I-II glioma had white matter fiber shift and compression, and the fiber bundle was partially interrupted. 34 patients belonged to the frontal parietal lobe and occipital lobe metastatic tumors. The fiber bundles of the peritumoral white matter and surrounding edema of malignant brain tumors were all interrupted and destroyed, and the destruction rate was positively correlated with the degree of malignant transformation of brain malignant tumors. Conclusion The application of DTI technology has high clinical value in the diagnosis and identification of malignant tumors of the brain and can provide a reference for the clinical determination of the malignant degree of brain tumors.
