Biological characteristics of Colletorichum gloeosprioides Penz.causing anthracnose of Carica papaya L.

2006
The biological characteristics of Colletorichum gloeosprioides Penz.resulting in anthracnose of Carica papaya L.was studied. The mycelia could grow from 10 to 35℃,and the optimum temperature was from 25 to 28℃,the range of pH was from 3 to 11,the optimum pH was at 6;The conidiophores could germinate from 10 to 40℃,the optimum temperature was 28 to 30℃,the range of pH was 3 to 11,the optimum pH was at 5.The conidiophores germination needed high relative humidity and germinated best in water drops; The growth of mycelia was affected by light,it could grow well without light. The glucose, lactose, fructose, sucrose, maltose and soluble starch could promote germination and formation of the conidiophores. The lethal temperature of conidiophores was 55℃ for 10 min.
