ABSTRACT This general paper reports on the problems of intruding “modernity” into schools, both secondary and tertiary. Why? How? Various possibilities are investigated at different levels. The fundamental principle remains the opening of the school towards the outside world. The first step in the right direction is teacher training and in fact training for the science of tomorrow. Is it possible? Perhaps, but with the possibilities of modern technology (scientific and educational) the principle of the “great father” must be eliminated and knowledge must have a new definition.
