Effect of longidase ultraphonophoresis on skin microbiocenosis in patients with acne

: Results of clinical examination and laboratory analysis as well as treatment of patients with torpid inflammatory forms of acne resistant to long-term antimicrobial therapy are presented and discussed. The combined treatment included longidase ultraphonophoresis that produced beneficial effect on the patients' dermatological status. Results of the study suggest the possibility of efficacious correction of the disturbed skin microbiocenosis. Specifically, concentration of all microorganisms sampled and cultured in the follow-up period did not exceed 10 4 CFU/ml. The amount of pathogenic flora (Staphylococcus haemoliticus and S. aureus) on the skin surface in 23% of the patients was significantly smaller than before the initiation of therapy. In 66.7% of the patients, the skin was totally free from Staphylococci of both species.
