The Effect of Lycium barbarum Polysaccharides on the Telomerase Activation and hTERT Expression on the Portability Liver Cancer in Mice

2012
Objective To explore the effect of Lycium barbarum polysaccharides on the telomerase activation and hTERT expression on the portability liver cancer in mice. Methods The portability liver cancer models were established with hypodermic inoculation.Ninety-six mice were randomly divided into 6 groups:normal control group, model group,LBP high,middle,low-dose group, positive control group. To observe the effect of LBP on the gross tumor volume, inhibition rates of tumor growth.Telomerase activation were determined by PCR-TRAP-ELISA,hTERT expression were determined by Western blot. Results LBP(20mg/kg·d,10mg/kg·d,5mg/kg·d) could obviously depress the gross tumor volume and weight(P0.05).The difference of inhibition rates of tumor growth were 42.23%,25.10% and 9.16%.LBP(20mg/kg·d、10mg/kg·d) could obviously inhibit the hTERT expression and depress the telomerase activation in liver cancer(P0.05). Conclusion LBP can produce depressant effects on the portability liver cancer in mice. The effects concerned with the LBP can inhibit the hTERT expression and depress the telomerase activation.
