RAÚL PREBISCH E SEUS MANIFESTOS: MOMENTOS DE FORMAÇÃO DA CEPAL // RAUL PREBISCH AND HIS MANIFESTOS: MOMENTS OF THE FORMATION OF ECLAC

Resumo: Raul Prebisch foi a principal lideranca politica e intelectual da Cepal, formulando as teses inaugurais do que viria a ser conhecido como estruturalismo latino-americano. Passados 70 anos da publicacao do primeiro estudo da Comissao sobre a America Latina, este artigo se propoe a sistematizar e analisar criticamente as formulacoes teoricas de Prebisch no momento de formacao da Cepal. Apos apresentar sua trajetoria politica e intelectual, serao analisados seus tres primeiros documentos produzidos na comissao: O Desenvolvimento Economico da America Latina e Alguns de seus Principais Problemas (1949); Crescimento, Equilibrio e Disparidades: interpretacao do processo de desenvolvimento economico (1950); e Problemas Teoricos e Praticos do Crescimento Economico (1951). ========================================= Abstract: Raul Prebisch was the main political and intellectual leadership of Eclac. He formulated the inaugural theses of what would have come to be known as Latin American structuralism. After more than 70 years of publication of the Commission’s first study on Latin America, the present article systematizes and analyzes critically Prebisch’s theoretical formulations entangled in the formation of Eclac. After describing his political and intellectual trajectory, the paper analyzes the first three documents he produced as part of the Commission: The Economic Development of Latin America and Some of its Main Problems (1949); Growth, Balance and Disparities: Interpretation of the Economic Development Process (1950); and Theoretical and Practical Problems of Economic Growth (1951).
