Magic Bullet for Body Fat

2009
The acute regulation of hunger and satiety is primarily due to the interaction between the stomach and the hypothalamus. Satiety develops mainly as a result of filling and distention of the stomach; the ingested volume is crucial whereas the energy content is irrelevant. The main reasons for an increased energy intake are a high energy density of foods, liquid calories, a large variety of foods, and frequent meals. Conservative nutritional therapies for obesity are successful only in the short-term. In the long-term, a low calory diet can be achieved by favouring foods with low energy density while also taking into consideration individual eating habits.
