Multi GNSS Advanced RAIM: An availability analysis

This paper presents multi GNSS Advanced Receiver Autonomous Integrity Monitoring (ARAIM) availability for vertical guidance of aircraft down to LPV-200. Our analysis is based on two data sets: real and simulated data. For analysis based on simulated data, we use MATLAB Algorithm Availability Simulation Tool (MAAST) for availability analysis. Analysis based on real data is carried out using pseudorange measurements from three GNSS that includes NAVSTAR GPS, GLONASS, and 4 In-Orbit Validation (IOV) Galileo satellites. We consider two Signal In Space (SIS) range error models i.e. a conservative URA-based SIS range error model, and the optimistic ISM-based SIS range error model. Results show that ARAIM with ISM-based SIS range error model delivers superior performance compared with URA-based model by deriving tight positioning error bounds and assuring 100% worldwide coverage with 99.9% ARAIM availability.
