Response of Integrated Weed Management to Different Varieties of Chickpea (Cicer arietinum L.)

2015
Weed management treatments influenced significantly various growth and yield attributing characters like, plant height, number of branches per plant, dry matter production per plant, number of pods per plant, number of seeds per pod and test weight by reducing weed population, which caused significant effect on seed (1804 kg ha−1) and stover (2782 kg ha−1) yields of chickpea crop. In most of the cases treatment W2 (Weed free upto harvest-H. W. 20, 40 & 60 DAS.) was found superior than rest of the treatments, but remained at par with W4 (Pendimethalin @ 0.75 kg ha−1 +1 hand weeding at 45 DAS) and W3 (Pendimethalin @ 1.00 kg ha−1).
