OPC UA-based Asset Administration Shell

Industry 4.0 is really changing the manufacturing through the convergence of physical systems and their digital counterparts with Information Technology as an enabler. The Asset Administration Shell is core to Industry 4.0 components. Very recently a relevant metamodel has been defined. The paper presents its mapping with OPC UA achieved extending the relevant information model.
