Update on the Jülich linear and area neutron scintillation detectors

1995
Abstract The design and physical characteristics of position-sensitive neutron scintillation detectors developed at Julich are described; three different types of linear and area detectors with absorption efficiencies of about 65% for 1 A neutrons using 6 Li-scintillator glass of 1.0 mm thickness. The construction of the linear detectors of 200,680 and 940 mm sensitive lengths and one area detector of 600 × 600 mm are based on a modified Anger technology; the spatial resolution is 1.2,2.3,3.3 and 8.0 × 8.0 mm, respectively. Small area detectors of 55 × 45 mm or 100 mm diameter and 1.0 × 1.0 mm spatial resolution are constructed with a 2-D position-sensitive photomultiplier.
