Effect of different organic manures on growth and yield of cabbage

2018
Present study was conducted to investigate effect of various types of organic manures in relation to growth, yield and yield attributes of cabbage. Two varieties of cabbage viz. Local cv. Supertropic (V 1 ) and hybrid cv. Atlas–70 (V 2 ), and five types of organic manures were used. The experiment was laid out in a RCBD with 3 replications and data were analyzed statistically and means were adjudged by DMRT at 5% level of probability.  Atlas–70 produced significantly the highest plant height, plant spread, length and breadh of the largest leaf at 75 DAT than Supertropic while Atlas–70 also produced superior results regarding number of loose leaves plant –1 , number of lateral roots plant –1 , diameter of stem, dry weight of root, dry weight of stem, diameter of head, fresh weight of head and dry weight of head were also highest than Supertropic. In case of OM, vermicompost @ 3.0 kg plot –1 showed significantly the highest values of plant height, plant spread, length and breadh of the largest leaf.  Plant height, plant spread, length and breadh of the largest leaf was the highest in interaction of Atlas–70 and 3.0 kg plot –1 vermicompost. Dry weight of stem was the highest (14.37 g plant –1 ) in vermicompost @ 3.0 kg plot –1 treated plant of Supertropic. It may be conclude that the variety Atlas–70 and Vermicompost @ 3.0 kg plot –1 would be signifciant for getting higher production of Cabbage.
