Community policing is a new trend of policing reform nowadays. There is far-reaching historical origin of community policing both in China and the West. But the theoritical research starts relatively earlier and there is more achievement of research and practice in the West. Through comparison and study, we can absorb the strong points and avoid detours in the course of reforming in policing.
