Extensive dynamic recrystallized grains at kink boundary of 14H LPSO phase in extruded Mg92Gd3Zn1Li4 alloy

Abstract 14H LPSO phase seriously affected dynamic recrystallization (DRX) behavior of extruded Mg 92 Gd 3 Zn 1 Li 4 alloy. After hot extrusion, extensive DRXed grains took place at kink boundaries, while only a few of DRXed grains were formed at original grain boundaries. The formation of DRXed grains near kink boundary was beneficial for mechanical properties.
