Study on the effects of Returning Farmland to Forest Project on the Eco-Environmental Vulnerability of Mudanjiang

2010
Starting at analyzing the characteristics of vulnerable ecological system, this paper selected 3 landscape indexes of FI, FD and FN, and 1 eco-environment index of erosion to make up the eco-environment sensitive factors, and chose the ecological suitability as automatic recovery ability. Thus it built up an Eco-Environment Vulnerability Assessment Model to evaluate the effects of Returning Farmland to Forest Project (RFFP) on the Eco-Environment of Mudanjiang. The results show that: ①no matter before or after the RFFP, the landscape vulnerability values from high to low are that: dry farmland > building > paddy field > forest > unused land > water > swamp > grass; ② the vulnerability in Mudanjiang declines from the high center to low edge circularly; after the RFFP, the area proportion of high vulnerability zones decreases from 21.57% to 17.11% while the low increases from 63.14% to 67.66%; (3) the highest vulnerability zone mainly exists in 200–400m elevation ranges and 0–8°slope range, and its area proportion decreases after the RFFP; the lowest exists in >300m elevation ranges and every slope range, and its area proportion increases. In a word, the model suits to the study area and the results show that the RFFP relieves the vulnerability in Mudanjiang and promotes the environmental quality to evaluate better and better.
