Digital Platforms as Social Interaction Medias: Virtual Sex Risks

The widespread use of internet has transformed communication and information exchange processes. The technological development has promoted the growth of virtual spaces that encourages virtual social interaction. There are many digital platforms dedicated to meet people and establish relationships since professionally to affective aspects. In this sense, affective relationships include sexual relationships, friendship and romantic love. The main goal of this research is to identify the psychosocial factors that encourages people to establish virtual relationships, particularly sexual erotic relationships; through the analysis of the causes and implications of this behavior. In general, this paper describes the risks of virtual sexual relationships and suggests security mechanisms to minimize them.
