The article deals with combat activity of the 12th Cavalry Division in battles against the Austro-Hungarian troops on the Southwest Front during the World War I. It was investigated contribution of the division to the course and results of the Galician battle, battles of 1915, the Lutsk-Chernivtsi operation and the Romanian front. It was marked martial feats of fighters and division commanders.
