Observation of the Therapeutic Effects of Hyperbaric Oxygen on Periodontitis after Periodontal Flap Surgery.

Objective To observe the therapeutic effects of hyperbaric oxygen on periodontitis after periodontal flap surgery. Me- thods 152 cases with periodonititis were randomly divided into treatment group (hyperbaric oxygen after periodontal flap surgery, n=76) and control group (periodontal flap surgery only, n=76), and the clinical effects of two groups were ovserved in 3 months and 12 months. Results The efficacy rates of treatment group and control group were 98.68% and 84.21% respectively. Statistical differences were Significant between the two groups. Conclusion Hyperbaric oxygen after periodontal flap surgery is effective in treating periodontitis.
