Mechanical model of seismic damage cumulation for short-limb shear wall

Based on the deformation,stress,damage features and regularity of short-limb shear wall,the hypothesis of limited damage region and finite plastic region close to two ends is proposed.Taking advantage of longitudinal coordination and crosswise composition of stripe wall and material constitutive properties of the stripe wall,a mechanical model of seismic damage cumulation of the short-limb shear wall is established.The flexibility matrix of the short-limb shear wall with considering damage cumulation is set up.A nonlinear finite element analysis program is developed by using flexibility-based fiber element model.An example shows that the design method presented in this paper is feasible and gets ideal results.
