Automatic Hurricane Damage Detection in Satellite Images using Deep Learning

Change in climatic conditions has led to a rise in hurricanes. Hurricanes or tropical cyclones are powerful storms accompanied by strong winds of 119 km/hours or greater. Hurricanes affect the human beings as well as the environment adversely [1-2]. They are one of the most dangerous natural disaster that take place on earth. They occur mostly in the tropical or sub-tropical regions because of the presence of the warm sea-waters [3-4]. They are also accompanied by rain, thunder and lightning. This causes huge damage to human lives as well as property.
