Estado de la regeneración natural en tres áreas del bosque protector Pedro Franco Dávila del recinto "Jauneche", provincia de Los Ríos, cantón Palenque, año 2019

2019
The richness of forest regeneration species in forests plays a very important role for the development of future generations, this research project sought to know the richness of diversity in four categories being, high latizal, low latizal, saplings and seedlings with their respective established parameters, where statistical analyzes were performed to obtain the horizontal and vertical structure of the vegetation in order to know the state of natural regeneration in the Pedro Franco Davila protective forest in the Jauneche county, province of Los Rios. The study of the species was given in three zones of the forest (forest without intervention (BSI), little intervention forest (BPI) and heavily intervened forest (BMI)) including 4 sampling units (SU) for each study area. Those calculations were fulfilled with the necessary data collection in three zones of the tropical humid forest, including the variables of common name, DBH, total height, and qualitative characteristics of the species such as crown illumination, presence of lianas, state of the species, form of cup and shape of the shaft. Natural regeneration species, especially smaller-sized species, tend to be lost due to silvicultural mismanagement, while arboreal and shrub-like species would develop normally. Keywords: Natural regeneration, horizontal and vertical structure, abundance, Ecological variables.
