Measurements of polarization of protons from the reaction. gamma. p. -->. p. pi. /sup 0/ at theta/sub. pi. / = 110/sup 0/ c. m. in the second and third resonance regions

Results of measurement of proton polarization in the regions of the second and third maxima of the total cross section of the p..gamma -->..p..pi.. /sup 0/ reaction are given. The measurements were carried out by means of a carbon polarimeter including wire spark chambers and a magnetic spectrometer. A resonance-like behavior of the polarization is manifested in the energy dependence. The results of the measurement are compared with phenomenological calculations.
