The chemical composition of the hydrocarbons of peat waxes

1983
The compositions of the hydrocarbons of crude and deresinified peat waxes have been studied. The presence in the waxes of a mixture of saturated and unsaturated compounds of normal, iso, and cyclic structures has been established and the C/sub 15/-C/sub 33/ saturated normal aliphatic hydrocarbons have been identified. It has been shown that on deresinification about 1% of the normal aliphatic hydrocarbons of the peat wax pass into the resin fraction, but this has no substantial influence on the qualitative composition of the normal aliphatic hydrocarbons of the deresinified wax.
