Polyvinyl Fluoride Films for Photovoltaic Modules

The chapter focuses on polyvinyl fluoride (PVF) films for photovoltaic modules. It provides a brief historical overview of Tedlar® PVF application before photovoltaic modules. It presents detailed information on solar cells including their conversion efficiency, construction and monocrystalline and polycrystalline silicon solar cells. Tedlar® usage in PV modules in the 1980s is discussed. Three most common PV backsheets made with Tedlar® film are TPT TM , TPE and TP with primer. Finally, the chapter provides a conclusion by looking into the future perspective of Tedlar® PVF film.
