this study aims to assess the response of sweet sorghum to drought stress, so that pain the sweet sorghum varieties being suitable to be cultivated in dry land or other marginal land. The study was conducted in the Laboratory of Plant Physiology and Biotechnology, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Sebelas Maret . The design used was Completely Randomized Design (CRD) are arranged in a factorial, which include sweet sorghum varieties and concentration of PEG. The 3 varieties used were Numbu, Kawali, and Sweet varieties. The observed variables included germination speed, germination capacity, shoot height, and root length. Data were analyzed by Anova followed by Duncan test at 5% level. The results showed that the Numbu variety provide the highest speed germination, germination capacity, shoot height, and root length.
