Avaliação de características de mudas de clones de guaranazeiro utilizando análise de fatores

This study aims to assess sets of variables of shoot and root ofguarana (Paullinia cupana ( var. sorbilis (Mart.) Ducke), which have a high degree of association when analyzed separately according to group or factor. The data used in this paper are the average values of 21 traits of guarana seedlings, under conditions suitable for the nursery and planting were evaluated in 36 clones of guarana. The study was conducted at the Experimental Field of EMBRAPA - Centre for Research in Agroforestry the Amazon (CPAA), Manaus, AM. The trial was a randomized complete block with five replications and 10 plants per plot and statistical analy- sis was used to examine the interdependence between the characteris- tics evaluated. Factor analysis permitted visualization of the existence of strong associations between 13traits in factor 1; six traitsin factor 2, and remained isolated, thenumber of root in factor 3, andapical diameter of branches, in factor 4. The discrimination between clones of guarana can be efficiently carried out using the traits branch length, basal diameter of branches, number of root and apical diameter of branches. The factor sco- res are the values for theclones selection.
