Influence of modification of the surface of brown coal semicokes on their catalytic properties

The catalytic properties of semicokes of brown coals and the materials obtained after their modification by oxidation, sulfuration, and heat treatment were studied. The ability of semicokes to accelerate reactions of etherification, decompose hydrogen peroxide, oxidize a hydrocarbon, remove chlorine from solutions, and other properties are compared with the parameters of the porous structure, elemental composition, chemical nature of the surface, characteristics of the IR spectra and EPR ones, the electrical conductivity, and other properties.
