Evaluación multicriterio y delimitación de espacios funcionales: aplicación SIG para la definición de mapas comarcales

The delimitation of intermediate management units between the municipality and the province is necessary to solve local problems. This study applies multi-criteria evaluation methods for delineating regional areas, so the paper proposes a methodological basis for delimiting regional areas using GIS. The application of the multi-criteria evaluation and the fuzzy logic is an answer to problems related to functional boundaries. The study permits to reflect on the adaptation of the GIS and the multi-criteria evaluation for the delimitation of homogeneous sub-regional functional units.
