Recombinant variant type lymphotoxin

PURPOSE: To obtain the subject new substance which is a variant in which loss, insertion or substitution of an amino acid residue is carried out in an amino acid sequence of lymphotoxin derived from animals, has cytotoxicity and is useful as a medicine exhibiting suppressing the action on tumor cell system. CONSTITUTION: This variant type lymphotoxin is a new variant of lymphotoxin of animals such as a cattle, in which a part before the amino acid residue 1 is lost and Lys89 is replaced with His, Ala168 is replaced with Val, Ile, Leu or the like, Trh163 is replaced with Tyr, Ser82 is replaced with Lys, Ser42 is replaced with Ile or the like, Lgs84 is replaced with Glu or the like, Ihr163 is replaced with Asp or the like, Ser70 is replaced Lys or the like, Thr69 is replaced with Tyr or the like, Lys28 is replaced with Arg or the like, His32 is replaced with Arg or the like, Asp36 is replaced with Pro or the like, Ser38 is replaced with Try, Ser61 is replaced with Thr or the like, Gly124 is replaced with Asp or the like, His135 is replaced with Arg or the like, Thr142 is replaced with Asp, and Glu146 is replaced with Lys in an amino acid sequence represented by formula I and formula II and produced by a recombinant DNA technique.
