Macroglobulinemia with bone destruction

1968
Abstract A fifty-three year old man, who had had signs and symptoms of macroglobulinemia, had a one year remission with cyclophosphamide. He died two and a half years after the onset of the disease with destructive bone lesions, peripheral blood plasmacytosis and organ infiltration. From the onset of illness until the time of death the abnormal serum protein was γM with L chains of kappa type, as shown by analysis of the chromatographically purified protein by agar gel diffusion and immunoelectrophoresis with monospecific antiserum.
