Combustion Processes in the Zr-Co-H2 System and Synthesis of Hydrides of Intermetallic Compounds

The researches on Zr2Co, ZrCo, ZrCo2 synthesis and hydriding in a self-propagating hightemperature synthesis — SHS mode are carried out. In IMC — hydrogen systems low temperature (350–500°C) and high temperature (600–850°C) areas of SHS reaction are detected. The hydrides ZrCoH3 (orthorhombic lattice, a=3.37; b=10.572; c=4.31A°) and Zr2CoH5 (tetragonal lattice, a=6.906 and c= 5.550A°) are synthesized. The thermal properties of hydrides are investigated.
